A small selection of castles and halls from around southern Northumbria. The county is claimed to have the most castles of any in England. It is possible to drive past 3 or 4 castles in the space of 30 minutes without trying to be touristy in any way. All of these were photographed over the space of two days (and don’t include all of the castles en route).
