Interesting report on Gigaom.com about a development on Pirate Bay enabling people to share 3D printer data for physical objects - what Pirate Bay have dubbed “Physibles”. This seems to be an early move given the relative scarcity and current diversity of printers.
As the article observes it raises all sorts of questions around intellectual property but it also potentially threatens at least some of the business of online retailers such as Ebay, Amazon and even Etsy.
